Snack. A bar of Pure Protein.  Dinner. Olive-oil braised chickpeas and carrots, served with Fage's thick Greek yogurt. Also: I drank half a bottle of Coca-Cola.  Workout. 45-minute-run. Sit-ups. Grocery. Key Food: $10.60

Snack. Boiled eggs (with sriracha); Trader Joe's Cowboy Caviar, with tortilla chips. We also the last few slices of the chocolate cake.  Dinner. Slow-roasted citrus salmon, with rice; roasted potatoes (garnished with scallions), on the side.  Workout. None.  Grocery. Adams: $15.39 + ShopRite: $59.88 + Wine: $30.24 = $105.51

Snack. A bar of Pure Protein. On returning from the American Museum of Natural History, we had a slice of the chocolate cake. Dinner. Trader Joe's Cowboy Caviar, with tortilla chips.  Workout. Walking amid a tide of people in Manhattan.
