Dinner. Drumsticks (bought at Whole Foods); marinated beets, on the side. We travelled to Manhattan merely for the purpose of meeting a gentleman, which turned out to be a terrible experience.

Snack. Bulgarian eggplant dip, with garlic toasts.  Dinner. Olive-oil braised chickpeas and broccolini, served with Fage's thick Greek yogurt.  Workout. 36-minute-run.

Snack. We had gulab jamun after a gap of more than a decade. So, to compensate for the deprivation, each of us had four of these sinfully sweet sweets.  Dinner. Chicken, simmered in Thai red chili paste, with rice.  Workout. 35-minute-run. Today, we drove to the Indian grocery store.

Snack.   Campbell's Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup. Dinner. Shrimp, on a bed of grits. Yes, both grits and polenta are made from ground corn, but while polenta is made from yellow corn, grits are, typically, made from white corn (or hominy.) We drove to Starbucks for coffee and banana bread and then onto Mavis Tire Discount to have the tires inflated.
